My pseudonym is Xifias Gladius–SwordFish–and we need to talk about faith and politics. We need to talk about a lot of things, but most importantly about what’s going on in our world right now and the relationship of Christianity to it. There are multiple voices out there on the airwaves, the blogosphere, and the mainstream media, and we are listening because we hope to hear something–anything–that will make sense of what’s going on.

And there are a lot of great voices speaking truth, but I don’t believe that we should only look to the Now. The voices from the past, too, can help us make sense of the present so we’ll look at the Bible, wisdom, and ancient historians to hear what they have to say.
